Si è tenuta oggi pomeriggio la conferenza stampa di presentazione di Francesco Candussi e Giovanni Vildera. Ospiti dello sponsor biancorosso BCC, i due “lunghi” di coach Christian hanno incontrato la stampa: presenti anche lo stesso coach e il General Manager Michael Arcieri, insieme a Marco Ghinelli di BCC, che ha fatto gli onori di casa. Di seguito le loro dichiarazioni.
Michael Arcieri, General Manager: “Siamo molto felici di essere qui, nella sede BCC, che ringraziamo per l’ospitalità. Siamo molto soddisfatti di avere Francesco e Giovanni nel nostro roster, due elementi che sanno cos’è lo spirito triestino di questa squadra e che anche grazie a questo sapranno essere punti di riferimento per i compagni”.
Coach Jamion Christian: “Ringrazio anche io BCC per l’ospitalità. È importante costruire ottimi rapporti con chi crede nei nostri obiettivi: in campo come fuori. Avere giocatori con caratteristiche come quelle di Francesco e Giovanni permette di dare varietà di soluzioni a tutta la squadra. Mi sento fortunato ad avere giocatori come loro e un gruppo di grande qualità ed esperienza”.
Francesco Candussi: “C’è una grande motivazione in tutto il gruppo. Conosco da tanto tempo molti dei miei compagni e le nuove sfide che il GM Arcieri mi ha presentato mi hanno convinto a riabbracciare una maglia e una città a cui sono molto legato. Sarà una stagione lunga: durante la pre-season abbiamo costruito – e stiamo continuando a farlo – un’identità di gruppo e una voglia di stare insieme che si riveleranno importanti nei momenti difficili”.
Giovanni Vildera: “Gli obiettivi che abbiamo sono molto importanti. Personalmente ho una grande voglia di rivalsa e dimostrare che quello dell’anno scorso è un risultato che non ci rappresenta. Vogliamo riportare Trieste dove merita. Ci proveremo grazie anche alle novità portate dal coach e dai nuovi compagni”.
L’incontro si è svolto alla vigilia della presentazione ufficiale della squadra – in programma domani dalle 17:30 al PalaTrieste – e in avvicinamento al campionato di A2, che vedrà i biancorossi esordire mercoledì 4 ottobre in casa con OrziBasket.

This afternoon, the press conference for the presentation of Francesco Candussi and Giovanni Vildera took place. Hosted by the sponsor BCC, coach Christian’s two “bigs” met with the press. Michael Arcieri, General Manager: “We are very happy to be here at BCC headquarters, whom we thank for their hospitality. We are very pleased to have Francesco and Giovanni in our roster, two players who understand the Triestine spirit of this team and who, thanks to this, will be reference points for their teammates”.
Coach Jamion Christian: “I also thank BCC for their hospitality. It’s important to build strong relationships with those who believe in our goals, both on and off the court. Having players with characteristics like Francesco and Giovanni allows us to provide a variety of solutions to the entire team. I’m fortunate to have players like them and a group of great quality and experience”.
Francesco Candussi: “There is great motivation within the entire group. I have known many of my teammates for a long time, and the new challenges presented by GM Arcieri have convinced me to embrace a jersey and a city I am deeply connected to once again. It will be a long season, and during the pre-season, we have built – and continue to build – a group identity and a desire to be together that will prove crucial in difficult moments”.
Giovanni Vildera: “The goals we have are very important. Personally, I have a strong desire for redemption and to prove that last year’s result does not represent us. We want to bring Trieste back to where it deserves to be. We will try to do so, thanks to the innovations brought by the coach and the new teammates”.
The meeting took place on the eve of the team’s official presentation, scheduled for tomorrow at 5:30 PM at the PalaTrieste, and in anticipation of the A2 championship, which will see the white and red team debut at home against OrziBasket on Wednesday, October 4th.
