Trieste, 11 agosto 2023 – È Justin Reyes il giocatore scelto dalla Pallacanestro Trieste per completare il suo roster in vista della prossima stagione. L’ala statunitense arriva in biancorosso dopo aver disputato l’ultima stagione con la maglia di Varese. Attualmente impegnato con la nazionale di Porto Rico, affronterà Cina, Serbia e Sud Sudan nel Girone B della prossima FIBA World Cup, prevista a partire dal prossimo 25 agosto.

Justin, classe 1995 originario del Massachusetts, frequenta il St. Thomas Aquinas College con cui disputa il campionato di NCAA Division 2, chiudendo il suo anno da senior con oltre 20 punti di media. Nella stagione 2018-2019 esordisce in G-League con i Salt Lake City Stars, la franchigia di proprietà degli Utah Jazz, mettendo a segno 7,4 punti a partita e tirando con oltre il 43% da 3 punti. Conclude quella stagione con gli Indios de Mayaguez, nella massima serie portoricana, cosa che gli permette anche di partecipare ai Giochi Panamericani del 2019 proprio con la maglia del paese caraibico.
Dopo una breve parentesi ai Raptors 905 in G-League, Justin torna a Porto Rico tra le fila degli Indios con cui disputa due stagioni mettendo a referto oltre 12 punti a gara, conditi da 6 rimbalzi e una percentuale stellare di oltre il 54% nel tiro dall’arco nel campionato 2020/2021. Nel mezzo anche un’esperienza proficua con la canotta del San Lazaro Jobo Bonito nel campionato della Repubblica Dominicana. Prima di arrivare a Varese, Justin inizia la stagione 2021/2022 con la maglia dei Capitanes de Cuidad de México in G-League, producendo 14,6 punti di media a partita e mantenendo sempre una percentuale da 3 punti di oltre il 40%. A gennaio 2022 i suoi numeri gli valgono una chiamata dalla Serie A, alla corte di coach Johan Roijakkers, appena subentrato sulla panchina varesina. Nell’ultima stagione, Reyes mette a segno 10 punti di media, garantendo grande pericolosità dall’arco e firmando un solidissimo 43,5% da 3 punti.

Pallacanestro Trieste Completes Roster with Addition of Justin Reyes
Trieste, August 11, 2023 – Pallacanestro Trieste has wrapped up its roster for the upcoming season with the exciting addition of Justin Reyes. Hailing from the United States, this dynamic forward is bringing his talents to the “Biancorossi” team after a standout season with Varese. Currently representing the Puerto Rican national team, Reyes is gearing up to face off against China, Serbia, and South Sudan in Group B of the much-anticipated FIBA World Cup, set to tip off on August 25.

The 2018-2019 season marked his G-League debut with the Salt Lake City Stars, an affiliate of the Utah Jazz, where he made his mark with 7.4 points per game and a sharpshooting three-point accuracy of over 43%. Closing that season with the Indios de Mayaguez in the top-tier Puerto Rican league, Justin also made a splash by representing Puerto Rico in the 2019 Pan American Games.
Following a brief stint with the Raptors 905 in the G-League, Justin returned to Puerto Rico donning the Indios jersey, making his presence felt over two seasons with an impressive 12+ points per game, accompanied by 6 rebounds and an astonishing three-point shooting rate of over 54% during the 2020/2021 championship. Alongside, he also gained valuable experience donning the San Lazaro Jobo Bonito colors in the Dominican Republic championship. Before his time in Varese, Justin embarked on the 2021/2022 season wearing the Capitanes de Ciudad de México jersey in the G-League, boasting an average of 14.6 points per game and maintaining an impressive three-point shooting percentage of over 40%. January 2022 saw his numbers earn him a Serie A call-up, joining the ranks of coach Johan Roijakkers, who had just taken the reins of the Varese team.
In the most recent season, Reyes tallied an average of 10 points per game, consistently showcasing his sharpshooting abilities beyond the arc with a rock-solid 43.5% three-point success rate.
