Trieste, 16 luglio 2023 – GiovanniVildera è la terza conferma nel roster biancorosso: il centro di Montebelluna affronterà la sua seconda stagione in maglia Pallacanestro Trieste.

Nato nel 1995 a Montebelluna, Giovanni Vildera cresce nelle giovanili della Petrarca Padova prima e della Reyer Venezia poi, accumulando da giovanissimo – 16 anni – le prime presenze a livello senior in prestito a Favaro, impegnandosi anche con la Nazionale, partecipando agli Europei Under 16 nel 2011. Nel 2014 arriva la prima esperienza in Serie A2 con la maglia di Omegna, dove resta per due stagioni prima del passaggio a Siena. Nelle due stagioni passate in Toscana prosegue il suo sviluppo, passando poi a Biella e a Rieti: proprio nel Lazio Vildera si afferma come uno dei più affidabili giocatori della categoria, superando con costanza i 10 punti di media, guadagnando con le sue prestazioni la chiamata in Serie A, a Treviso. In Veneto, Vildera è un importante elemento della panchina di coach Menetti, contribuendo al raggiungimento dei playoff. Da Treviso Giovanni si trasferisce a Ferrara in A2, realizzando quasi 10 punti e più di 5 rimbalzi di media, e salendo ulteriormente di livello nei playoff con più di 11 punti e 6 rimbalzi per partita.
Il suo arrivo a Trieste, nella passata stagione, lo vede stabilmente nelle rotazioni di coach Legovich: Vildera mette a referto nel campionato 2022-2023 4 punti in più di 11 minuti medi di impiego sul parquet. Si tratta di un giocatore che fa della fisicità la sua arma più importante, condita da una grande aggressività vicino al ferro.

Giovanni Vildera is the third confirmation on the biancorosso roster: the center from Montebelluna will start his second season in Pallacanestro Trieste jersey.

Born in 1995 in Montebelluna, Giovanni Vildera grew up in the youth teams of Petrarca Padova first and then Reyer Venezia, accumulating at a very young age – age 16 – his first appearances at the senior level on loan to Favaro, also committing with the National Team, participating in the Under 16 European Championship in 2011. In 2014 his first experience in Serie A2 arrived with the jersey of Omegna, where he stayed for two seasons before moving to Siena. In the two seasons spent in Tuscany he continued his development, then moving on to Biella and Rieti: it was in Lazio that Vildera established himself as one of the most reliable players in the category, consistently exceeding the 10-point average, earning with his performance the Series A call-up to Treviso.
In Veneto, Vildera was an important part of Coach Menetti’s bench, helping to reach the playoffs. From Treviso, Giovanni moved to Ferrara in A2, scoring nearly 10 points and averaging more than 5 rebounds, and rising further in the playoffs with more than 11 points and 6 rebounds per game.
His arrival in Trieste last season saw him permanently in coach Legovich’s rotation: Vildera put up 4 points in more than 11 average minutes of usage on the parquet in the 2022-2023 championship.
