Impegno infrasettimanale per la terza di campionato, che propone al PalaTrieste la sfida tra gli imbattuti padroni di casa e l’Andrea Pasca Nardò, ancora ferma al palo dopo le sconfitte in casa contro Udine e nell’ultima uscita a Forlì. Trieste dopo la vittoriosa trasferta di Chiusi ritrova Vildera a tempo pieno e punta decisa a mantenere aperta la striscia positiva iniziata con Orzinuovi. Ex di turno il triestino Andrea Donda, classe 1999, 5 presenze in maglia alabardata in Serie A2 nella stagione 2015/2016.

Inizia la contesa con la palla a due tra Iannuzzi e Candussi, con il tocco del primo che favorisce il primo attacco ospite, bloccato da Ruzzier che recupera e favorisce il cambio di fronte, con Candussi che muove subito la retina dall’arco. Entra Campogrande e timbra subito il cartellino trovando la tripla del +6. Smith accorcia le distanze trovando spazio nel pitturato, nonostante la strenua opposizione di buona parte della difesa triestina. I padroni di casa non trovano il modo di riallungare e Iannuzzi infila in appoggio al tabellone, imitato poi da Bossi da una parte e Stewart dall’altra. Campogrande decide allora di mettersi in proprio e dare una scossa all’ambiente: altro canestro da fuori e vantaggio che torna di 6 lunghezze. La prima azione del secondo quarto è per Trieste, ma Nardò recupera il pallone ed inizia come aveva finito, ovverosia con La Torre a canestro. Dall’altra parte arriva la prima tripla di Reyes, Trieste tiene il vantaggio a due possessi e fa buona guardia in difesa, tornando velocemente in attacco e trovando il canestro in entrata di Ferrero, con fallo subito ed and-one trasformato per il +9 (32-23) dopo un minuto e mezzo. Gli ospiti reagiscono con Stewart da sotto, poi è Candussi a segnare in appoggio dopo un bell’assist di Ruzzier. Parravicini mette la tripla del -6 e tiene i suoi attaccati nel punteggio, Ruzzier non ci sta e prova l’affondo, subendo fallo da Maspero e compiendo poi percorso netto dalla lunetta. I pugliesi colpiscono ancora con Parravicini, che trascina i suoi con grande caparbietà. Iannuzzi gode delle attenzioni della difesa triestina, che non gli lascia spazio di manovra; l’azione si sposta così sugli esterni e Smith colpisce dall’arco per il -10. Reyes continua a produrre fatturato, mentre in difesa Nardò deve lottare parecchio per crearsi spazio per tirare: il canestro di Maspero dà un po’ di ossigeno agli ospiti, che non riescono a replicare e devono subire poco dopo l’entrata di Deangeli. Si torna in campo con i giocatori di Nardò che sbattono ancora contro la difesa triestina, l’attacco dei padroni di casa invece è efficace e con Candussi arrivano altri due punti, ma il n°13 poco dopo commette il terzo fallo e coach Christian lo richama sul pino. Iannuzzi (1/2) muove il punteggio, Trieste torna velocemente in attacco e da Ruzzier arriva un invito a nozze per Vildera che appoggia il canestro del nuovo vantaggio in doppia cifra (+11), che aumenta nell’azione successiva con Ruzzier stavolta protagonista principale: canestro in attacco al ferro e and-one trasformato. Nardò è soprattutto La Torre in questo momento: passaggi e tiri partono principalmente dalle sue mani, però senza efficacia. Dall’altro lato arriva invece la tripla di Deangeli, il pubblico si infiamma e Trieste vola a +17. Stewart (1/2) tiene vivo il punteggio, ma i problemi degli ospiti arrivano anche in difesa, dove le maglie particolarmente larghe consentono a Reyes grandi spazi di manovra: il canestro e il libero aggiuntivo per fallo di Nikolic scavano ulteriore gap tra le due compagini.
